Our patches are made from high-quality materials and are quoted to last up to 50-60 washes. However, we have seen instances of our patches remaining intact even after years of use. The durability of the patches depends on a variety of factors, such as location, amount of wear patch received during jiu jitsu training, athlete’s after-training-gi-care routine, washing machine water temperature and PH level, athlete’s drying preferences, etc. Most gi's patched by our customers are for competition use specifically, rather than for daily training.

Yes. We recommend washing your gi separately in cold water with a small amount of laundry detergent (preferably a detergent that is free of dyes), on a gentle cylce. We always recommend hang-drying your gi instead of using a dryer to help extend the lifespan of both your gi and its patches.

Yes! Our mail-in service allows you to send us your gi, either purchase a new gi and ship to us, or send us one from your collection and and we’ll professionally apply the patches. Once we receive your gi and your artwork is confirmed, it takes 1-2 business days to complete the patching and ship it back to you.

Yes please! The gi should be washed for multiple reasons, primarily of which is because we want the best result for you! All new gi's will shrink slightly after the first wash, even if labeled as "pre-shrunk." While our patchwork itself does not shrink, the fabric of the gi underneath it will contract slightly. This can create small gaps between the patch and the gi fabric, allowing water and moisture to seep in. Over time, this may cause the patch to loosen or peel away (delaminate). To ensure the best results and long-lasting patches, we recommend pre-washing and pre-shrinking your gi before sending it in for patching.

Yes! We also have specialized vinyls for use with compression wear and fabrics with stretch or elasticicity.

That’s right! Our patches are like a permanent tattoo for your gi. Once applied, they cannot be removed without damaging the fabric, making them a lasting representation of your style and affiliation within the jiu-jitsu community. Make sure you love it OR begin to build your gi collection as a representation of the place and time you were at in your life. We have plenty of first time customers turned lifelong INK lovers. The only limit is your imagination -- we can't wait to design something with you!

We offer individual patching pricing as well as package patching options for individuals/families in need of multiple logos, all depending on the specific number of logos and custom texts needed. Our prices for custom patching starts at just $20 for a small patch. Please view our patching catalog for more detailed information.

The process is quick and efficient once we have your gi. Here’s how it works:

After completing your order and payment on our website, our team gets to work immediately! You can send your gi to our shop at any point after placing your order. Within 24 hours, we’ll create digital mockups of your design and send them to you via email for approval. You can also confirm your mockups through our WhatsApp channel.

Once your gi arrives and the mockups are approved, we’ll complete the patching process within 48 hours. Afterward, we’ll either ship your gi back via USPS or hold it for shop pickup, depending on your preference.

Please note that turnaround times may vary slightly during large-scale events, major championships, or periods of high order volume. Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated throughout every step of the process.

We accept vector files such as AI, EPS, or PDF for the best results. If you don’t have a vector file, high-resolution PNG or JPG (300 DPI or higher) may work, but additional design fees may apply for editing and preparing your artwork for printing.

Of course! We are artists at our core and love working with new designs, fonts, and creative ideas. Have any other ideas?

Yes! If you have the space on your gi, we can make almost anything happen in our lab.

Unfortunately, yes, it’s too late. All custom orders are non-refundable after mock-ups are approved. We apologize for the inconvenience and maintain this stance in an effort to streamline custom patchwork production.

We use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for all outgoing mail, unless specified. Customer’s will have the option to ship using FEDEX or DHL for an additional fee, where applicable.

In some instances the answer is yes! Navigate to the custom patching page on our website, and build your gi just as you normally would. If rush shipping is available for your order, you will be able to select the “Rush Shipping” option from the dropdown menu.

Sort of! While BJJINK certainly can never guarantee meeting customers at a specific location prior to their event, we can certainly guarantee you a time to visit us at our flagship shop to meet the team and pick up your completed patchwork.

This works the same exact way as ordering any patchwork from us. Navigate to the patchwork catalog on our website, and begin to create your custom gi. In your cart, prior to checkout, you’ll have the option to select “pick-up at will call,” and you can track your gi every step of the way.

Items must be in brand new, resealable condition - the items cannot be used, washed, or trained in and must be initiated within 10 days of receiving your order.

BJJINK will not cover or reimburse return shipping costs .

- IMPORTANT - A restocking fee of $15.00 will be deducted from your refund total for returned items that are crumpled and/or do not come in the original packaging (i.e.plastic bag, and/or no clothing tags).

You can visit our physical store in Costa Mesa and present your order confirmation or return packing slip as proof of purchase.

All items must have the original tags attached, and not been washed, worn or trained in.

Store associates can either provide an in store exchange, refund, or store credit.

Exchanges

Please allow 5-7 business days (not counting weekends and holidays) for your return to undergo the inspection process.

Once your item is inspected and approved, you will receive an email notification that your return has been received and processing.

BJJINK will then create your exchange online and you will receive an order confirmation via email.

It will take approximately 1 - 2 business days for your order to be sent out if there are no delays.

If the requested exchange item is no longer in stock, we will refund back to the original form of payment.

Non-Returnable items

Certain items may not be eligible for return due to customization, final sale, or other reasons. These items will be clearly marked on the products listing page and include all custom patch job products. Yes! We accept exchanges on all soft goods, such as: tee’s, pullovers, hats, rashguards, and hoodies Just make sure the garment in question is unwashed and unused with original tags, and that you generate your exchange request within 10 days of purchase date. Please use our contact form to request an exchange number.

Yes, if you made the purchase within the last 10 days, BJJINK will honor a return with 20% restocking fee deducted from the value of the original purchase price.

No. Customer is responsible for return shipping for all exchanges and returns. You can return the item in question to one of our friendly associates at our flagship BJJINK store at any time within the time period.

Refund will be returned to the customer's original payment method within 7-10 business days upon BJJINK receiving and approving the return of the item in question.
